Strengthening Farmers’ Organizations to Develop Sustainable Livelihoods

About the Project

This project supports farmer organizations in Niger to strengthen sustainable livelihoods, food security, and climate resilience in rural areas. Implemented by the Federation of Farmers’ Unions of Niger (MOORIBEN) with technical support from FAO, the project runs in the regions of Dosso and Tillabéri.

The project strengthens farmer cooperatives by improving governance, management, and compliance with national legislation, while supporting smallholder farmers, especially women and youth, to adopt climate‑resilient and agroecological practices. It promotes value addition, food processing, market access, and access to finance through farmer‑led value chains.

With a strong focus on women empowerment, nutrition, and social inclusion, the project contributes to increased incomes, improved food security, and more resilient rural communities.
