About the Project
This regional project aims to strengthen the resilience, governance and economic inclusion of pastoral and agropastoral communities in critical transboundary areas across West and Central Africa. Building on lessons and investments from the Regional Sahel Pastoralism Support Project (PRAPS), the project will work through national producer organizations and regional networks to improve territorial governance, service delivery, market integration and social cohesion in pastoral systems.
The project will strengthen pastoral management committees and transboundary dialogue platforms, support conflict prevention and sustainable natural resource management, and promote pastoral value chains through targeted assistance to women- and youth-led enterprises. It will also enhance economic resilience through improved access to services and inputs, foster agriculture–livestock integration, and pilot regional livestock feed procurement mechanisms. In parallel, the project will strengthen producer organizations through professionalization, decentralized advisory services, and digital tools for monitoring, early warning, knowledge management and regional learning.
