Climate change, conflict, and insecurity continue to be significant drivers of hunger, and more than 820 million people worldwide go to bed hungry every day. Investing in smallholder farmers has proven to be part of the solution to hunger and malnutrition.

Learn more about how the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) uses an inclusive partnership model—including governments, civil society, multilateral institutions, community-based organizations and farmers— to work together to make a difference in improving the lives of smallholder farmers and their families. Through a strong mix of public and private sector investments in agriculture and food security, GAFSP is helping to generate jobs, mitigate the effects of climate change, increase production and consumption of nutritious food, and facilitate recovery from crises.

Drawing on examples from the ground, including Uganda and Nepal, this session will feature discussants that represent GAFSP’s diverse partnership, namely the public sector, the private sector, and civil society. They will present GAFSP’s results and impact from the unique perspective of the constituency they represent, focusing on what an inclusive partnership looks like and what it can accomplish.
