About the Project

The Project will maintain the objectives from the parent Project which is to enhance climate resilience, improve agricultural productivity and nutrition practices of targeted smallholder farming communities in selected areas of Nepal. The additional financing directly supports the four of the five outcome indicators in terms of adoption of improved technologies including increased crop and animal productivity; increased household income, and improved dietary intake for pregnant, lactating mothers and children under 24 months. The project will prioritize the upscaling of the successful practices such as farm business schools, small-scale irrigation, mechanization, establishment of multiplier herd for livestock breed improvement, on-farm cultivation of fodder and forage grasses and nutrition gardens and schools from the ongoing project to the new rural municipalities.
